Nirek Mokar grew up in the 17th arrondissement but it was while attending the Paris Boogie Speakeasy that he fell in love with boogie-woogie. His father indeed worked in this club where we listen to it seems “the best traditional jazz in the capital”.

Nirek was 5 years old when he discovered music and met boogie musicians, but also jazz and blues. Remember that the boogie-woogie is initially, – according to the definition given on the site artisteaudio.fr – “a pianistic way of interpreting the blues in a more rapid and rhythmic form”. A definition that Nirek confirms by insisting on “the joy that this music gives off”.

The piano, Nirek Mokar learned to play alone, at the age of 10, by watching videos on the internet, listening to CDs and sometimes benefiting from the advice of his elders. In July 2015, he was just 13 years old and released his first album, Nirek Mokar Plays Boogie Woogie. He does it again in 2017 with Born To Boogie where he asks the best French boogie-woogie specialists to accompany him for the recording.

In April 2020, the little prodigy publishes Be My Guesthis third opus recorded with his Boogie Messengers, a group created in 2016. An album that mixes original compositions and rhythm and blues standards.
