France is preparing to experience severe bad weather in the North. Nineteen departments were placed on orange wind alert by Météo-France on Wednesday February 21, with an episode expected from Thursday noon. This concerns the North, the Pas-de-Calais, Somme, Aisne, Oise, Seine-Maritime, Eure, Calvados, Manche, Orne, Val-d’Oise, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, Paris, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Eure-et-Loir.

“The Louis depression will deepen this Thursday afternoon in the Channel then the North Seaspecifies Météo-France. In its wake, marked rains accompanied by strong gales will occur in the country.”

Two other departments are affected by a rain and flood alert, from the night of Wednesday to Thursday: lin Vendée and Deux-Sèvres. “Over the episode, we expect accumulations reaching 30 to 50 millimeters, locally up to 60 millimeters.”
