Nine potential buyers for the Senators

The Ottawa Senators are still for sale. The sale price is estimated at 900 million dollars. According to the media Sporticonine groups have shown interest in the National Hockey League (NHL) to acquire the Canadian franchise.

If the franchise sells for more than $900 million, it will be the biggest sale in league history. In 2021, the Fenway Group Sports bought the Pittsburgh Penguins for this sum. In reality, the value of the Senators would be around $655 million. It would therefore be the fifth team with the least value.

These nine groups had to indicate their interest before the deadline, scheduled for this week. Also according to the media specializing in sports economics, the most serious groups will be invited to visit the team’s facilities during the coming month.

Among the candidates, there would be the Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, one of the investors of the Montreal Canadiens, Michael Andlauer, and the Toronto real estate group The Remington Group.
