Nine men wanted after their escape from the Administrative Retention Center in Oissel, near Rouen

Research is underway near Oissel (Seine-Maritime), this Saturday, October 15. According to information from our colleagues from 76actu
confirmed by the Seine-Maritime prefecture to France Bleu Normandie, nine men in an irregular situation escaped this Friday evening from the Administrative Retention Center of Oissel (CRA), near Rouen, where they were held pending deportation.

To get out, these nine men succeeded, around 10 p.m., in break a wall near a window frame. They would then have slipped through a small compartment, normally accommodating a roller shutter.

Reinforced patrols

So far, none of them have been found. This Saturday morning, Pierre-André Durand, the regional prefect and the zone director of the border police went to the site and several measures were taken. Patrols have been reinforced within the center but also around the police academy located just next door. Research sheets have also been transmitted to the police to try to find the fugitives and work has also been undertaken to secure the site.

A site considered dilapidated

This site is also considered outdated since a Cimade report published in 2018.

This is not the first time that this type of escape occurs in Oissel. In 2014, already 8 foreigners in an irregular situation had managed to get out, by unscrewing one of the protective grids of a window of their dormitory.
