Thunderstorms after hot weather. Nine departments in the South-West are placed on orange alert for thunderstorms from the early evening by Météo-France. “O’sStrong storms, with hail and heavy rain, are expected this evening and during the first part of the night in the South-West.writes the forecaster in his latest weather bulletin, Monday September 11.
Orange vigilance will begin at 7 p.m. in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Gers and Landes. It will extend to five other departments – Gironde, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot-et-Garonne, Dordogne, Lot – from 9 p.m.
“A stormy deterioration coming from Spain is expected at the end of the day in the south-west of the country”, writes Météo-France, which mentions “strong thunderstorms accompanied by heavy hail and high intensity of precipitation”.
