“A major judicial police operation led to the arrest last week of nine individuals, in Nantes and Lille”announced Wednesday March 20 in a press release, Renaud Gaudeul, public prosecutor of Nantes. “More than 12 kg of heroin, 40 kg of cannabis, smaller quantities of cocaine, 12 firearms and 77 000 euros in cash” were seized, he detailed.

The prosecutor specifies that the “indictments followed one another at the end of last week, the last two having been carried out on Tuesday”. Among the nine arrested, there are two from Nantes, two from Lille but also a Ukrainian and two Russians, details France Bleu Loire Océan which followed the press conference by Renaud Gaudeul and Nicolas Jolibois, interdepartmental director of the national police in Nantes.

The drugs transited through Lille and went to Paris

These arrests took place “following a judicial investigation opened at the very beginning of the year relating to an emblematic Nantes deal point”, explained the public prosecutor. In other words, 38 rue Watteau, in Dervallières, considered one of the biggest deal points in the Nantes area, specifies France Bleu Loire Océan. The investigation established that 500 customers went to this address daily. This deal point generated a turnover estimated between 25,000 and 30,000 euros.

The drugs arrived from abroad via Lille before being delivered to two apartments located at this Nantes address, but also to more than ten other deal points, notably in Paris. This operation took place “in a context of very strong judicial activity in the fight against drug trafficking in recent months.” Carried out at the end of last week, it mobilized around sixty police officers.
