The club is starting a new showdown with a fringe of its supporters. Rani Assaf, president of Nîmes Olympique, declares to file a complaint against the Gladiators and even aims for the complete dissolution of this group of supporters. The reason ? Much more than the smoke cracked in the Nîmes enclosure, and which could still cost the club fines. These are especially the insults of a few dozen members of the group, this Saturday, on the sidelines of the match against Dunkirk (1-0 defeat) at the Costières stadium. In the stands, too, a banner had been deployed with this message: “Assaf break up”.

“In front of a family audience dumbfounded by these new provocations, insulting, xenophobic, homophobic and unacceptable songs (Rani Assaf is a dirty…, Assaf son of p…, Assaf Assaf we don’t care…, Assaf breaks you the club is in Nîmes) , the management of the Club, which does not lack convincing elements, will bring complaint against the association and individuals identified“, it is specified in the press release.
The club also adds very clearly to begin “the necessary steps with the competent authorities in order to dissolve the “Gladiators Nîmes” association : the behavior and attitude of its members being manifestly contrary to its purpose and seriously harming the interests of the Club“.
