The president of Olympic Nîmes has barely made his media comeback that his agenda is already full. Indeed, Rani Assaf has planned to exchange with the supporters. If this meeting is not new, the date and format were not yet fixed. So now we know more. This meeting will take place “in the next two weeks”, announced this Wednesday morning on France Bleu Gard Lozère the boss of the Crocos. It will be, he says,a meeting in the form of questions and answers “and open to everyone. Clearly, the group of Gladiators Nîmes (GN) will be able to participate in particular. “It’s open to all supporters”concludes Rani Assaf on this aspect.
No reopening of Weighing East
Between the president of Olympic Nîmes and the GN, relations are icy, even non-existent, especially for many months. A situation which had also led to the closure of the Weighing East. And at this point, out of the question for Rani Assaf to reopen it:
“People who insulted me, who came to tag me, who put their priorities and their desires before the priorities and interests of the club, I maintain: these people no longer have their place in the stadium, except if they change software.”
In the meantime, the Crocos boss made another announcement: the new stadium is expected to open at the end of December. “We hope to play there the last two days at the end of December, says Rani Assaf. Right after the World Cup. So it’s soon, in four months. And we’re working hard on it.”
At least two new recruits
By then, the Nîmes Olympique should have strengthened a little more. Before the end of the summer transfer window, scheduled for Thursday evening, the club should register the arrival of at least two players. “Maybe a third, but I don’t give them away, because I’m a bit superstitious on it. Until the contracts are signed and the ink has dried, I am not announcing the names.”
