In 2007, Grégory Lemarchal left us, at the age of only 23. Suffering from cystic fibrosis, this young prodigy had won the fourth season of Star Academy three years earlier and had started a very successful career since. And everyone still remembers his limpid timbre and the particularly high pitched notes of his interpretations. In particular on Daniel Balavoine’s “SOS d’un terrien en distress”, which he had adapted to his unique voice. And it is this version that took over, this Saturday, September 10 on The Voice Kids, a very young boy of 9 years old. Florian is originally from Romania and has only been living in France for two years. And recognizes himself that his “French is almost perfect”.
“It’s Grégory’s note!”
Dressed for the occasion in a pretty traditional Romanian shirt – his dad, behind the scenes, will say that it was Florian’s grandmother who embroidered it – the little talent pays homage to his deceased idol: “It’s is an artist who made me want to sing and work too.” And from the first notes, the coaches are conquered. Kendji Girac, full of emotion, immediately presses his buzzer. He will be followed by Julien Doré. Louane and Patrick Fiori savor, for their part, this moment of grace. Until the end, the magic works… until the last note, “the note of Grégory” underlines Nikos who is close to the parents of the young Florian. Conquered, Kendji Girac will finally be the coach of the little talent to whom he confides that he was amazed: “I too sing this song, but I am always afraid to sing it!”. Highlighting Florian’s true technical prowess.
“Grégory is in my heart, in all of our hearts, forever.”
His crystalline voice therefore brings the “kid” into the great adventure of TF1’s tele-hook. A moving moment that he shares behind the scenes in the arms of his dad, in tears. And Nikos, just as touched, tells him about his missing friend, Grégory Lemarchal: “You know you made me very happy. Because I know that you worked on Grégory Lemarchal’s version. And you know that Grégory is in my heart, in all of our hearts, forever. And it’s so nice to see a great young man like you who arrives with all his courage and takes up Grégory’s song. I congratulate you for that!”
A tribute to this prodigy who disappeared too soon and whose memory Nikos never ceases to maintain, with the parents in particular of the latter who have created an association to fight against cystic fibrosis bearing the name of their child.
