The play written by Marie NDiaye, author of some twenty plays and novels, including Three powerful womenwhich won the Goncourt Prize in 2009, premiered in Avignon in the summer of 2021. The staging is by his son Frédéric Bélier Garcia.

Royan, the French teacher tells the story of a teacher following the suicide of one of her students. Marie NDiaye’s monologue was written specifically for Nicole Garcia.

In addition to acting in the films of Claude Sautet, Alain Resnais, Claude Miller or Nadine Trintignant, she has directed nearly a dozen films, including Evil of stones, A favorite son and A balcony on the sea.

The tickets for Royan, the French teacher will go on sale at TNM on March 26 at noon.
