There will be a second Zepeda trial. The Chilean appealed his conviction on Wednesday, announce his lawyers. Nicolas Zepeda was sentenced Tuesday in Besançon to 28 years in prison for the murder of his former Japanese girlfriend Narumi Kurosaki in December 2016.
“Nicolas Zepeda took the decision to appeal the judgment rendered yesterday and the appeal was registered this morning at the registry”, told AFP My Jacqueline Laffont and Julie Benedetti. Throughout the case and trial, the young man claimed he was innocent. The body of Narumi, a Japanese woman who came to Besançon for her studies has never been found.
