Nicolas Sarkozy and Lionel Jospin overwhelm Emmanuel Macron

A former head of state and a former prime minister. In their sights for both of them: the dissolution decided by Emmanuel Macron. Nicolas Sarkozy hits hard: “This dissolution constitutes a major risk for the country as well as for the president”he explained in particular in the JDD. For him, the head of state risks having his hands tied to lead the country. But he is especially worried about France. “This could plunge the country into chaos from which it will have the greatest difficulty emerging”he added.

For his part, Lionel Jospin is not more convinced by the dissolution of the National Assembly. “Once again, Emmanuel Macron has decided alone (…) He is leading the French in his haste”he declared in the newspaper The world. According to him, calling legislative elections today is “a political error”. The former Prime Minister welcomed the formation of the New Popular Front, which he considers to be the only possible alternative to the National Rally.
