Nicolas Cage: Goodbye artist…

At 59, Nicolas Cage is reportedly on the verge of retirement. The actor who has appeared in more than 100 films during his career has just given a rare interview to Uproxx in which he talks about his future. If the actor explains that he has “other contracts to fulfill”, he assures that these could be the last of his career.

“I feel like at this point, after 45 years of working in over 100 films – I feel like I’ve pretty much said what I needed to say with filmmaking. And I’d like to go on a good mark and say: ‘Adios'”. Despite an imminent departure, Nicolas Cage assures that he does not intend to completely abandon acting and could consider a transition to theater and/or television. “I think I need to do maybe three or four more films before I can get to the end and then I hope to change the format and find another way to express my acting.” did he declare.

Nicolas Cage, who admitted to having squandered his fortune, then expressed his interesting growth for streaming and series: “I’ve seen things that can be done now with the characters and the time they’re given to express themselves. I saw Bryan Cranston stare at a suitcase for an hour in an episode of ‘Breaking Bad.’ “We don’t have time to do that in a feature film, so maybe television is the best step for me. We’ll see.”.

And the actor determines his life plan for the next few years: “I’m going to be 60 next month and my father died at 75. So, if I’m lucky, I’ll live a few years longer than him, but I don’t know. So what am I going to do with my next 15 years? Well, what’s important? What’s important is my children and I have a little girl. And If I can find an episodic series to do that lasts and where I can stay for the long term, that would be great on a personal level. But also I’m a student and I don’t know if I have anything else to learn in cinema. Maybe I have something to learn from television.” he concluded.
