For many, Nicola Sirkis is the face of the Indochine group. For forty years, the singer has been roaming the stages of the whole country and, to celebrate this anniversary, he even wrote a book, published at Le Seuil, with Rafaëlle Hirsch-Doran. But the fans of the first hour do not forget that at its creation, in the early 1980s, the formation was quite different.
During the first Indochina concert, at the Rose Bonbon in Paris, Nicola Sirkis was accompanied by Dominique Nicolas, Dimitri Bodianski and his twin brother Stéphane. Sadly, life eventually separated him and the group lost a voice along with a family member. On February 27, 1999, Stéphane Sirkis died at the age of 39. He died of hepatitis C, contracted as a result of his addictions.

We must not believe in the Other, nor in the Others. I know death is no warning and can happen in seconds. So I try not to waste time, to take care of my life first, to live in the present.“
