People who attended the show Pink Friday 2 World Tour by Nicki Minaj on Wednesday evening at the Bell Center had to be patient: the Trinidadian rapper only took the stage around 11:20 p.m., three hours after the scheduled time.
At the end of the evening, Wednesday, several spectators shared their exasperation on social networks. “Nicki was supposed to start three hours ago…this is just ridiculous,” one wrote on TikTok, posting a video of the empty stage and packed house.
At 11 p.m., on the social network X, Nicki Minaj explained that she had problems with her private flight. She was due to leave at midnight on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, but her flight, she said, would have been postponed several times. Once in Canada, customs checks would have further delayed her. She specifies that she was expected on stage at 9:30 p.m.
“They know I have a show. They know we’re 20 minutes away. They know that we will not be escorted by the police. Sabotage is real, but God is even more real. I’ll be on stage in 15 minutes,” she wrote, apologizing and promising a “magical night.”
The concert finally ended around 1 a.m. If we rely on social networks, some spectators forgave him for his lateness, praising his energy on stage, but others still seemed offended after his performance. “The bus doesn’t come after 1 a.m.,” one of them complained on TikTok.
