Nick Suzuki is the third NHL star of the week

(Montreal) Montreal Canadiens center Nick Suzuki was named the NHL’s third star of the week on Monday.


Calgary Flames goalie Jacob Markstrom and Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky were the first two, in order.

Suzuki participated in six of the Habs’ nine goals in three games last week, dominating the NHL with six points (4-2) during this sequence. Additionally, he is currently on a seven-game point streak.

He recorded his second three-point performance (two goals, one assist) of the season in a 5-2 win against the Washington Capitals on February 6. Suzuki then collected two points (one goal, one assist) in a 3-2 loss against the Dallas Stars on February 10, before scoring one of the Bleu-blanc-rouge’s two goals in a 7-game loss. -2 against the St. Louis Blues on February 11.

Aged 24, Suzuki is the CH leader with 48 points (17 goals, 31 assists) in 52 games this season.

Furthermore, Markstrom led the Flames to three consecutive road victories, posting a 2.00 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage. The Flames (25-22-5, 55 points) thus came within three points of the last place giving access to the playoffs in the Western Association.

For his part, Bobrovsky stopped 56 of the 58 shots he faced last week, compiling a 2-0-0 record, a 1.00 GAA, a .966 save percentage and one shutout. At the same time, he propelled the Panthers (33-15-4, 70 points) to within three points of first place in the Atlantic section.
