Amine Gouiri’s outbursts and the ease of Chephren Thuram made the difference for the people of Nice. The Aiglons provided the essential without being afraid, Tuesday March 1, against Versailles, in the semi-final of the Coupe de France, with an easy qualification in the final (2-0). With this success on home soil, OGC Nice have their first final in a national cup since the Coupe de la Ligue in 2006. They will face Nantes or Monaco at the Stade de France.
For their part, the players of Yvelines delivered a solid performance, but not enough to disturb the men of Christophe Galtier, launched at full speed for several weeks. Tenacious in the first half without necessarily being worried, the Versaillese conceded a goal after returning from the locker room on one of their only defensive errors. On a perfectly adjusted cross from Jordan Lotomba, the former Lyonnais Amine Gouiri showed his talent in the area with a half-volley sequence that came to stay in the right corner of the opposing goalkeeper.
The second goal is also, in large part, the work of the French international hope. After a festival against the Versailles defenders, Gouiri, full of altruism, delivered a caviar to Kasper Dolberg who adjusted an unresolved Dan Delaunay.
If the people of Nice did not shine in the game, one of them appeared above the lot at the Allianz Riviera: Khéphren Thuram. The young Aiglons midfielder (20 years old) wandered throughout the match and spoiled the many spectators who came to watch qualifying with his mastery, ball at his feet, and his incessant round trips. Like his second half of the season, the son of Lilian and little brother of Marcus has energized the midfield of the Rouge et Noir.
