Nice overthrows ASSE

Who would have bet it? In the 50th minute of play, the Niçois showed nothing. A few whistles come from the stands, the Gym trailing by two goals. No OGC Nice fan could have predicted what was going to happen. The entire Nice season summed up in one meeting.

On the tails side, the first half, the Aiglons offer as many things as last Saturday at the Stade de France, that is to say not much.

However Christophe Galtier lines up an attractive team with real wingers on the sides (Kluivert and Brahimi). Amine Gouiri is repositioned on the front of the attack alongside Andy Delort, a place so demanded by the International Espoir.

But lo and behold, the defeat in the Coupe de France final seems to have reached the heads of Dante’s teammates. Conversely, Saint-Étienne plays liberated.
Bouanga with a header (11th), then Zaydou Youssouf, with a nice cross volley (45th + 5), allow the Greens to buried, a priori, the end of the Riviera season.

On the face side, the second period, the Gym believed in its luck and reminded the Stéphanois of their 18th place in the standings. The triggering factor is undoubtedly the reduction of the gap signed by Melvin Bard. From an impossible angle, the former Lyonnais began the fantastic comeback (1-2 in the 53rd minute).

From that moment the Aiglons are transfigured. They dare, take risks. Andy Delort tries a long free kick. His heavy strike is unstoppable for Paul Bernardoni. (2-2). The former Montpellier player offers himself a double in a handful of seconds. In 7 minutes the Gym went from 0-2 to 3-2.

Unhappy with his hand against Nantes last Saturday, Hicham Boudaoui is finally successful. An inspiration from the Algerian in a half-volley at the entrance to the surface allows the Niçois to ensure their success 4-2. What a comeback from the Gym!

And while the future seemed to darken, everything is clear now. Stade Rennais losing to Nantes in stride, the alignment of the planets is real. Nice doubles Strasbourg and Rennes, goes back to 4th place in the standings. Monaco (3rd) is 2 points ahead, Strasbourg (6th) is 3 behind, enough to calmly tackle the match against Lille this Saturday for the Gym.
