NHL | Washington Capitals extend Sonny Milano’s contract

(Arlington) The Washington Capitals and winger Sonny Milano have agreed to a three-year, $5.7 million contract extension.

Team general manager Brian MacLellan announced the deal Saturday, adding to an already busy All-Star Game weekend for the Capitals.

The team extended striker Dylan Strome’s contract for five more seasons on Friday for $25 million.

Much like Strome, Milano has proven to be a fine addition for the Capitals.

Milano first signed a one-year contract once the season started. Since his recall from Hershey (AHL), he has scored eight goals and 22 points in 40 games.

Selected at 16e rank by Columbus in 2014, Milano played his first eight seasons with his home club and the Anaheim Ducks.
