NHL | Tuesday’s game between Sabers and Blue Jackets postponed due to weather

(Buffalo) Tuesday’s Sabers game against the Columbus Blue Jackets was postponed by the NHL on Monday as Buffalo International Airport remains closed due to a severe winter storm that crippled the area.

The postponement date has not yet been determined.

A travel ban is in effect in Buffalo, and the airport will not resume service until at least Wednesday morning due to a storm that has dumped nearly 50 inches of snow on the region since Friday.

The Sabers were scheduled to travel to Columbus Tuesday morning after the NHL’s Christmas break, which ends Monday night.

The Sabers have won four straight games but haven’t played since capping a three-game road trip with a 3-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Dec. 19.

The Sabers’ home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Dec. 23 was also postponed due to the storm.

The Sabers’ next game is scheduled for Thursday night, when they host the Detroit Red Wings.
