Travis Green is reportedly set to become the new head coach of the Ottawa Senators.
At least that’s what TSN insider Darren Dreger reported on X Monday afternoon.
Green, 53, would succeed Jacques Martin, who had temporarily replaced DJ Smith, fired last December.
This season, Green himself was promoted to interim head coach of the New Jersey Devils following the firing of Lindy Ruff.
He previously spent five seasons at the helm of the Vancouver Canucks. During his stay, the team only qualified for the playoffs once. He was fired after 25 games in 2021-2022, when the club had a record of 8 wins, 15 losses and 2 overtime losses.
As a player, Green scored 193 goals and had 262 assists in 970 NHL games.
