NHL: this choice of the top 10 of the draft is likely to pay off big

The young Slovak Dalibor Dvorsky begins to polish his weapons in the bosom of the Blues of St. Louis, the team having selected the 10e rank in the most recent National Hockey League (NHL) draft, and club officials are already rubbing their hands in satisfaction.

The 6-foot-1, 201-lb hockey player attended the Blues’ development camp last week and he seems to have left a great impression.

“He’s a terrific player with character and two-way abilities. As a skater under the age of 18 [NDLR: il a cet âge maintenant], he showed his scoring skills and made incredible plays, while helping others around him. There is a lot of potential here, I really liked the athlete,” described the training’s amateur recruiting director, Tony Feltrin, to the NHL.com site.

The pivot has already offered a sample of his know-how at the World Junior Championship last winter, scoring three points in five games with his country. Having notably amassed six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 38 Allsvenskan league games with the Swedish team AIK in 2022-2023, he prefers to be cautious about the rest of his career.

“We’ll see, I don’t have an answer at the moment. I will do my best to reach the NHL as soon as possible, he said. I feel good here, the atmosphere is favorable, the people are nice. I also enjoyed the sessions. So far, I like everything here.”

“I want to try to be myself and give the best when I find myself on the ice,” he said.

Still in Sweden

During the next campaign, Dvorsky will wear the uniform of IK Oskarshamn within the elite circuit of Sweden.

“Every guy takes his direction. I chose the one from this country and I’m happy. I believe it is good for me. I learned so much there. Certainly, the challenge is real, but it is always so in hockey and I like this kind of mission.
