NHL | Samuel Girard enters the player assistance program

Quebecer Samuel Girard has been placed on the NHL player assistance program, the Bettman circuit and the Players Association announced Friday evening.

The Colorado Avalanche defender will therefore be “unavailable for his club for an indefinite period” while he receives help from the program, it is reported.

Girard will continue to be paid while he receives treatment. He will return to his club when the program administrators have authorized him to do so.
