(New York) The New York Rangers have signed restricted free agent defenseman Braden Schneider to a two-year, $4.4 million contract extension.
Defenseman Ryan Lindgren is the last regular Rangers defenseman still without a contract for next season. Lindgren has filed for salary arbitration.
Schneider set career highs last season in games played (82), assists (14) and points (19), while also tying his career high with five goals. He ranked second among Rangers defensemen in hits (167) and blocked shots (133).
In 206 career NHL games, Schneider has 12 goals and 36 assists. He has a +13 rating.
