NHL playoffs | Wyatt Johnston gives the Stars victory in overtime

Wyatt Johnston scored at 16:22 in overtime and the Dallas Stars won 3-2 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday to clinch their first victory in the series.


The Golden Knights now lead the series 2-1. The fourth match will be played Monday evening.

Johnston scored his second goal of the series, and of the game, when he shot from a tight angle and beat goaltender Logan Thompson over the left shoulder. Thompson had compromised and Johnston outsmarted him.

The attacker had hit the target earlier in the first period to open the scoring.

Defender Miro Heiskanena made it 2-0 shortly after the halfway point in the period.

Jason Robertson had two assists and Jake Oettinger stopped 32 pucks in the victory.

Brayden McNabb and Jack Eichel, shorthanded, scored the Golden Knights’ goals. Thompson stopped 43 shots for the Golden Knights.

McNabb and Eichel scored within four minutes of each other to tie the score at 2-2.
