The misfortune of some is the happiness of others. The Florida Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 in overtime Friday on a goal by Nick Cousins.
The Panthers thus join the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern final, while it’s the end for the Maple Leafs, whose next few days are likely to be eventful. The Leafs are eliminated in five games.
