NHL: Macklin Celebrini back on the floor?

After having an excellent first career game in the National Hockey League (NHL), San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini could find himself on the sidelines.

According to NBC Sports, the very first pick of the last draft is suffering from a lower body injury and his presence for Saturday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks is uncertain.

In his press briefing on Friday, Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky would not say whether his star player was injured during Thursday night’s game or whether the injury was the same as he had undergone during the preparatory calendar.

“He’s still being evaluated, so I can’t answer that question,” Warsofsky also said, when asked if the young man would be available to face the Ducks.

Celebrini suffered a lower body injury during a preseason game against the Utah club. He had slammed heavily against the railing.

The 18-year-old began his NHL career by scoring a goal and providing an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues.
