NHL: Jesper Bratt in great form against the Wild

Thanks to a great Jesper Bratt, the New Jersey Devils won 4-3 against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday at the Prudential Center.

With less than four minutes remaining in the second period, the small forward of the Devils (5-2-1) completed a superb play by his team on the power play by propelling the puck into Marc-André Fleury’s right corner.

It was the Swede who opened the scoring, he who was also an accomplice in Tyler Toffoli’s goal at five against four while the dial showed 6 min 10 s elapsed in the middle period. That said, Erik Haula’s net, 44 seconds later, really hurt Dean Evason’s players, who had taken a 2-1 lead a few minutes before.

Note that Jack Hughes was cleared for the first time this season.

For the Wild, Pat Maroon had a productive evening on offense. He made the red light shine for the first time in the campaign, also obtaining an assist on his team’s third goal.

Fleury failed four times out of the 30 shots he faced. This loss is the third in a row for his team, which now has a performance of 3-4-2.

The Capitals do the minimum against the Sharks

The San Jose Sharks (0-8-1) will have to wait before celebrating a first victory in 2023-2024 because they lost 3 to 1 against the Washington Capitals (4-3-1).

David Quinn’s troops had opened the scoring through Luke Kunin and had the lead until the very start of the third period. However, it was the man in form among the “Caps” Dylan Strome who sounded the revolt by scoring his sixth goal of the season.

Tom Wilson then scored the winning goal for Washington with less than five minutes remaining in the game. In this win, Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson both collected two assists.

Evgeny Kuznetsov was the other scorer for the Capitals.
