NHL | Elias Lindholm moves to Vancouver Canucks

Elias Lindholm is moving from the Calgary Flames to the Vancouver Canucks.


The Flames confirmed the news Wednesday evening. In return, the Canucks give up 27-year-old forward Andrei Kuzmenko, defensemen Hunter Brzustewicz and Joni Jurmo, a first-round pick in 2024 as well as a conditional fourth-round pick, also in 2024.

Lindholm, who has been playing in Calgary since the 2018-2019 season, has 9 goals and 23 assists in 49 games this season. The 29-year-old center is currently in the final year of a six-year, $29.1 million contract.

For his part, Kuzmenko has 13 assists and 21 points in 43 games. The current season is the first of his two-year, 11 million contract signed last summer.

Brzustewickz still plays in the Ontario Junior League, where he has a record of 8 goals and 61 assists in 47 games. He was selected in the third round of the 2023 draft. As for 21-year-old Finn Joni Jurmo, he is currently playing in Liiga.
