If the draft sheds light on tomorrow’s stars, two veterans were traded late in the NHL Draft on Thursday.

First, the Maple Leafs sent goaltender Petr Mrazek to the Chicago Blackhawks in return for 25e and 38e choice. With the first of two picks, the Hawks selected defenseman Sam Rinzel.
Then, minutes later, the Edmonton Oilers traded forward Zack Kassian on the 29the pick, a 2024 third-round pick and a 2025 second-round pick to the Arizona Coyotes in return for 32e choice.
With the 29e selection, the Coyotes drafted giant format defenseman Maveric Lamoureux from the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
