Juraj Slafkovsky had an appointment with the Canadiens on Thursday, and a key player was there: the owner of the team himself, Geoff Molson. This is reported by colleague Emily Kaplan of ESPN.

No details have filtered out about this meeting. However, there is one downside. Slafkovsky was due to arrive on Monday, but his flight was delayed. Consequently, his meeting with the Canadiens has also been postponed. If it had taken place at the beginning of the week, as planned, Molson would not have been part of it.
According to our information, Shane Wright, the other main candidate to be drafted in 1er rank by the Habs, has still not met Molson, and at the time of this writing, no meeting was scheduled between now and the draft, which will take place Thursday evening.
Slafkovsky’s meeting with Molson is another element that will confuse the issue. Two weeks ago, Martin St-Louis spoke at length on the phone with Wright, but not Slafkovsky. Vincent Lecavalier also made a phone call to Wright.
The Canadiens hold the n picksoh 1 and 26 for this first round of the repechage on Thursday.
