The Slovak thus joins his compatriot Juraj Slafovsky in Montreal, drafted in first place by the Habs at the start of the evening.

Mesar, a right winger, was ranked 20e ranking of international skaters by NHL Central Scouting. The various connoisseurs saw him roughly at the rank at which the Canadian pronounced his name. Bob MacKenzie, of TSN, for example, foresaw the 30e rank, and the specialized site Dobber, more optimistic, on 20e rank.

The 5-foot-10, 174-pound forward has just played two full seasons in the Slovak senior championship. He had 14 and 16 points in 36 and 37 games, respectively.
