NHL | Devils acquire Kurtis MacDermid

(Anaheim) The New Jersey Devils acquired Kurtis MacDermid from the Colorado Avalanche on Friday in an effort to add toughness to their team for the playoff race in the Eastern Conference.

In return, the Devils gave up a seventh-round pick in the next draft, as well as 23-year-old forward, without a contract, Zakhar Bardakov.

MacDermid, who turns 30 at the end of the month, averaged just over five minutes of ice time per game in 29 games played this season. He scored two goals and received 23 penalty minutes.

MacDermid can play as a defender or attacker.

Bardakov, a 2021 seventh-round pick, is playing in the Kontinental Hockey League this season.
