Montrealer Jim Montgomery will be one of four head coaches at the next National Hockey League (NHL) All-Star Game scheduled for Sunrise, Fla., on February 4.

The Boston Bruins coach will lead the Atlantic Division roster, a first for him, as his squad has excelled so far this season. His team went 32-4-4 for 68 points, earning them the top spot in the overall standings.
For his part, Rod Brind’Amour (Carolina Hurricanes) will be at the helm of the Metropolitan team. He will work behind the bench at this event for the second time in his career. The Hurricanes lead their division with 57 points, two more than the New Jersey Devils. On the West side, Peter DeBoer (Dallas Stars) and Bruce Cassidy (Vegas Golden Knights) will pilot the Central and the Pacific respectively. They will be at a third and second presence, in order. Their clubs each amassed 56 points.
The four men selected by the NHL are the coaches whose team had the best percentage of points collected in their division as of Wednesday.
The TVA Sports channel will broadcast the Weekend des étoiles on February 3 and 4. After the skills competition on day 1, the activities of the second day will consist of a tournament involving the four competing teams. These will each include nine position players and two goalkeepers. Games will be three against three.
