The native of Longueuil has obtained opportunities in dribs and drabs since 2017-2018, the year he joined the Canucks school club in the American League. However, this season, he played nine games, bringing his total in the National League to 19, and obtained a first point in the Bettman circuit.
Year one of this new deal will be two-pronged, while year two will be one-pronged with the Canucks.
“We are excited to bring Guillaume back for a few more seasons. Thanks to the coaching and guidance he received from Jeremy Colliton and his staff at Abbotsford, Guillaume has taken a step forward this year. We will continue to work with him and expect him to be a strong candidate for an NHL regular next year,” general manager Patrik Allvin said in a statement.
Brisebois played 241 career games in the American League. This season, the defensive back has six points in 36 games.
