Tom Brady has been fined by the NFL for attempting to kick Grady Jarrett of the Atlanta Falcons, a person with knowledge of the matter told The Associated Press on Friday.

Jarrett received a penalty for knocking Brady to the ground in the Buccaneers’ 21-15 victory over the Falcons last Sunday. It looks like Brady tried to kick Jarrett as both players got to their feet, but there was no contact.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was fined $11,139, according to the source who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the penalties are not announced until Saturday.
Jarrett and Chris Jones, a Kansas City Chiefs defensive end who received a roughing penalty against Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr, are automatically subject to fines.
However, there was outrage from players, coaches and fans as they felt the tackles did not seem to warrant a handkerchief.
The fines for this type of behavior are $15,000 for the first offense and $20,000 for the second. It was the first such penalty for Jarrett and Jones this season.
