NFL | The Eagles will play a game in Brazil on September 6

(Las Vegas) The Philadelphia Eagles will be the host team in the first-ever NFL regular season game in Brazil on Friday, September 6.

Commissioner Roger Goodell made the announcement Monday, as the week that will culminate with the Super Bowl began.

The Eagles will play in Sao Paulo against an opponent to be named later.

The match will take place one day after the curtain rises for the 2024 season.

It will be the first time in 54 years that the NFL will play a game on a Friday night during its opening weekend.

The Los Angeles Rams hosted the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, September 18, 1970.

The match will be played at Corinthians Arena, home of soccer club SC Corinthians.

The stadium was used during the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.

The Eagles’ opponent will be announced in the spring, closer to the unveiling of the full NFL schedule.

Five regular season matches will be played internationally in 2024.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London will host the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings in separate matches.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will return to Wembley Stadium, while the Carolina Panthers will play at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
