NFL | The duels on the agenda

Throughout the NFL season, The Press will suggest three duels to follow each week. The match sealed in advance, where a team’s victory is almost assured. The most surprising duel, where a team could beat a seemingly more powerful rival. Then the part not to be missed, where popcorn and cold drink will be necessary to accompany the action.

Certainty

Chicago Bears vs. New Orleans Saints (Sunday, 1 p.m.)

It’s rare, but this week, the 14 duels on the schedule should be hotly contested. The ninth week of activity promises to be exciting and, at first glance, no team will be able to show up to its match with the certainty of winning. However, the Saints are the team with the best chance of winning. Simply because the Bears are pitiful, inconsistent and led by an inexperienced quarterback. On the other hand, despite a 4-4 record, the Saints are better cut and more complete. Derek Carr has thrown for over 300 yards in his last three starts. The Saints will also play in their dome.

Prediction: 21-13 Saints

The surprise

Los Angeles Chargers vs. New York Jets (Monday, 8:15 p.m.)

They may have participated in the most soporific game in history last week, but the Jets are still surprising. To the extent that even though they lost their star player in the first game of the season, they have no punch on offense and they play in a highly competitive division, the Jets still show a 4-3 record. If the playoffs started tomorrow, the Jets would be the first team excluded from the picture. On the other hand, the Chargers are unable to take off. Even if they can count on one of the best quarterbacks of his generation in Justin Herbert, and on an explosive attack, they still have more defeats than victories. Once again this year, a stone is stuck in head coach Brandon Staley’s shoe.

Prediction: 24-17 Jets

The unmissable

Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday, 9:30 a.m.)

Several duels were candidates in this category. The match between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles will be exciting. The clash between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals will be spectacular. However, the game between the Dolphins and the Chiefs remains one not to be missed. You’ll have to get up early, cook waffles or pancakes, depending, and enjoy the show. Tua Tagovailoa and Patrick Mahomes only faced each other once, in 2020, and 60 points were scored. Miami and Kansas City are in the top 5 of the majority of offensive categories. Unfortunately for the apostles of defense, the offensive sequences will be explosive, on both sides. Plus, they will be playing in Germany, so neither team can be carried by home advantage. The conditions will be the same for everyone. But because they were humiliated last week and the Dolphins have had it this season against the best teams, the Chiefs will prevail.

Prediction: 38-31 Chiefs
