NFL | Steelers win 20-16 against Titans

(Pittsburgh) Kenny Pickett completed a three-yard pass to Diontae Johnson with 4:02 remaining and the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Tennessee Titans 20-16 on Thursday.

The Steelers (5-3) bounced back from an embarrassing loss Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars by doing what they have done often this season: hanging on long enough to win at the end of the game.

Four of the Steelers’ five victories came while trailing early in the fourth quarter.

Picket struggled at times while dealing with a rib injury, but was effective at the right times. He completed 19 of 30 passes for 160 yards.

Running back Jaylen Warren rushed for 112 yards.

Rookie Will Levis did well in his second game as starting quarterback, but was unable to emulate his first, when he threw four touchdown passes.

This time, he allowed his team to advance 262 yards through the air, but his 39e and last attempted pass turned out to be the first interception of his career. Linebacker Kwon Alexander’s layoff sealed the game’s outcome with six seconds left.

Titans receiver Treylon Burks had to be carried off the field in a cart during the final moments of the game.

Treylon Burks fell hard to the ground.

Burks attempted to make a catch on fourth down near the sideline, but the ball got away from him and he fell hard to the ground. He seemed to lose consciousness.

Medical staff from both teams provided treatment to Burks, 18e overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft. His face protector was cut and he had to be restrained, but he was able to move his fingers and toes.
