(Florham Park) Trevor Siemian will get his second straight start for the New York Jets as Zach Wilson continues to undergo concussion protocol.
Coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that Wilson did not have the green light from doctors to play Thursday night against the Browns in Cleveland.
Siemian completed 27 of 49 passes for 217 yards with a touchdown pass to Jason Brownlee and an interception in a 30-28 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. He was 3-for-5 for 26 yards during the final sequence, which was capped by a 54-yard game-winning field goal from Greg Zuerlein.
Wilson suffered a concussion in the first half of a 30-0 loss the previous week to the Dolphins in Miami. We do not yet know if he will have the green light for the last game of the regular schedule, January 7 against the Patriots in New England.
Saleh also indicated that Zuerlein has a right thigh injury and could miss Thursday’s match. The Jets will have to add an additional kicker if he is unable to play.
Zuerlein has missed just one field goal in 31 attempts this season.
