NFL: Laurent Duvernay-Tardif attempts a comeback with the Jets

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is on the verge of returning to the NFL and it is with the New York Jets that he could make his comeback.

The information was revealed by journalist Ian Rapoport, of NFL Network, who is not used to being wrong.

Duvernay-Tardif would undergo a physical today at Jets headquarters in New Jersey. If all goes as planned, he will first join the Jets’ reserve team. Depending on his progress, he could then be integrated into the regular roster.

The Duvernay-Tardif clan does not plan to comment on the whole thing until the news is official.

Last season, after six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Quebec guard was traded to the Jets. Initially a reservist, he quickly established himself as a starting player.

The Jets had shown interest in bringing LDT back with them this season, but the McGill University product decided during the offseason to complete his medical residency at a Montreal hospital. He had advised NFL teams that he was open to the idea of returning to the game once his residency was completed.

More details to come…
