NFL | Dolphins crush Jets 34-13

(East Rutherford) Tyreek Hill celebrated a touchdown by passing the ball to his new wife in the stands, Jevon Holland returned an interception 99 yards for a major late in the first half and the Miami Dolphins easily defeated the Jets New York 34-13 Friday.

“It changed the pace before returning to the locker room,” Holland said. They threw the ball, attempted a bomb in the hope of causing something.

“And boom!” You just gave up a touchdown! »

It was the first time that the NFL presented a game on the Friday after American Thanksgiving.

Raheem Mostert also scored two touchdowns on the ground for the Dolphins (8-3), who increased their hold on first place in the Eastern section of the American. The Jets (4-7) suffered a fourth loss in a row.

Tua Tagovailoa was the victim of two interceptions, including one that Brandin Echols brought back to the end zone for a major. However, the Dolphins were in control for the majority of the game.

Tagovailoa completed 21 of his 30 passes for 243 yards.

Tim Boyle was the Jets’ starting quarterback in relief of Zach Wilson, who was left out due to his poor performance. The Jets’ offense never took off, generating just one touchdown on a one-yard pass from Boyle to Garrett Wilson with 4:37 left in the game.

“I think we shot ourselves in the foot too many times,” said Boyle, who had seven sacks.

The Dolphins took a 10-0 lead when Tagovailoa connected with Hill, who avoided Jordan Whitehead’s attempted tackle and raced into the end zone for a seven-yard touchdown with 8:21 left in the second quarter.

Hill took off his helmet and spotted his partner Keeta Vaccaro in the stands. He blew a kiss before throwing the ball to her. The two got married two weeks ago, during the Dolphins’ bye week.

Trailing 10-6 shortly before halftime, the Jets attempted a bomb on the last play of the half. Positioned at the entrance to the end zone, Holland intercepted Boyle’s pass and took advantage of a few good blocks to cross the field unopposed and score the major.

The Dolphins players couldn’t believe it, and neither did those of the Jets. But those from just one team were celebrating on the field.

“It was crazy,” Dolphins receiver Jaylen Waddle said. This is one of the most spectacular games I have witnessed. This was the crazy play we needed. »

Jets fans heading to the food concessions were shaking their heads in the stands after another horrible half from their team.

“I’ve never experienced or seen anything like this,” Boyle said. I guess that’s a good lesson to learn. »

Mostert delivered the final blow by scoring on a 13-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter, allowing the Dolphins to widen the gap to 27-6.
