NFL | DeVonta Smith extends contract with Eagles

(Philadelphia) The Philadelphia Eagles signed wide receiver DeVonta Smith to a three-year extension on Monday.

Along with this signing, the Eagles accepted the option for the fifth year of Smith’s contract, for the 2025 season. The extension will expire at the end of the 2028 season.

Smith caught 240 balls for 3,178 yards and 19 touchdowns in three seasons with the Eagles. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2020, helping the University of Alabama Crimson Tide win two national titles.

According to reports, Smith’s new deal will see him pocket $75 million, including $51 million guaranteed. His best season came in 2022, when he helped the Eagles reach the Super Bowl with 95 catches for 1,196 yards.

Smith’s contract extension continues a busy offseason for the Eagles.

They signed running back Saquon Barkley and linebackers Bryce Huff and Zack Baun to contracts. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is also back, a year after the team let him go as a free agent.

The Eagles also signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White to a one-year, $7.5 million contract.

Additionally, kicker Jake Elliott, star guard Landon Dickerson and defensive end Brandon Graham all signed contracts to remain with the Eagles.

Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox have retired, leaving only four Eagles players to have won the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia squad in 2017.
