NFL could move Super Bowl due to COVID-19

The NFL, unsurprisingly concerned about the meteoric rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, is studying different options to present the Super Bowl next month.

This is not surprising, since the league does this kind of exercise every year. However, with the NFL Championship game set to take place in Los Angeles, and the restrictions on indoor gatherings increasingly tighten, the operation seems more important this time around.

“We plan to play Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said on Wednesday. As is the usual procedure for the organization of regular season and playoff games, we have contacted various clubs to inform us of the availability of their stadium if ever we were not able to play the Super Bowl as expected due to climatic issues or extraordinary circumstances. “

“We’re ahead of our schedule for the Super Bowl in Los Angeles, and we’re hopeful that we can wrap up another fantastic NFL season there for our fans and our clubs,” he added.

AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, is said to be one of the stadiums targeted by the NFL. It hosted the Rose Bowl in 2021, after the game was moved from Pasadena due to health restrictions in California.

Earlier Wednesday, the Grammy ceremony was postponed indefinitely. It was scheduled to take place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on January 31. Organizers cited health and safety grounds to justify their decision.

The Super Bowl is scheduled to premiere at SoFi Stadium on February 13.
