(Santa Clara) Brandon Aiyuk’s contract dispute with San Francisco ended Thursday as the wide receiver agreed to a four-year, $120 million contract to remain with the 49ers.
Two people familiar with the deal said the sides reached an agreement after Aiyuk missed a second straight practice despite being cleared by doctors.
The sources spoke anonymously because the deal has not been officially announced.
NFL Network was first to report the deal, which includes $76 million guaranteed.
Aiyuk refused to train all offseason, saying he had a back injury.
Coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch said he got the OK from team doctors before Wednesday’s practice.
Aiyuk has since been facing fines, having requested a trade earlier in the summer.
The 49ers will open their regular season at home on September 9 against the New York Jets.
Aiyuk developed a great relationship with quarterback Brock Purdy last season.
He had 75 catches and a career-high 1,342 receiving yards, finishing seventh in the NFL in that department.
He had seven touchdowns in an offense that included several other elite playmakers in Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, among others.
Aiyuk has 3,931 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns in that fashion since being drafted 25e in total, in 2020.
In his career, eight of his eleven games with at least 100 receiving yards have come with Purdy at quarterback.
Purdy was a seventh-round pick two years ago.
