(Detroit) The Buffalo Bills spoiled Thanksgiving festivities in Detroit by getting cozy at Ford Field, where they picked up a second victory in five days.
Tyler Bass broke the deadlock with a 45-yard field goal with two seconds remaining as the Bills beat the Detroit Lions 28-25 on Thursday.
“There was a sense of deja vu,” said Josh Allen, who set the stage for the game-winning field goal by starting the Bills’ offensive streak with a 36-yard pass to Stefon Diggs. The quarterback also had 12 yards on two carries.
The Bills were back in Detroit after the NFL moved their recent home game to Ford Field due to a snowstorm in western New York.
The Bills (8-3) became the third NFL team to play two road games at the same stadium in five days or less. They are the first to have won both games.
The Buffalo team also tied the Lions’ number of victories (4-7) in their own stadium this season.
The Bills won their second straight game and took control of the AFC East Division by half a game ahead of the Miami Dolphins.

Allen gave the Bills the lead when he joined Diggs in the end zone with 2:40 to go. Bass, however, missed the convert after touchdown.

The Lions converted a fourth down in midfield on a seven-yard play from Amon-Ra St. Brown, which eventually allowed Michael Badgley to tie the game on a 51-yard field goal with only 23 seconds to play.
Badgley missed a 29-yard field goal late in the third quarter and Jared Goff took a sack in the end zone to give the Bills two points in the same period. These errors ultimately cost dearly.
Allen threw a touchdown pass and he added a middle finger on the ground in the first half. He completed 24 of 42 passes for 253 yards, but also threw for 11e interception this season.
The Lions (4-7) squandered a chance to claim a fourth straight win for the first time since 2016. They suffered a sixth straight loss in the traditional American Thanksgiving game, which is a team record.
“I told the players this loss was going to hurt,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said. We had a chance to win and we didn’t, but I don’t see that as a step back. I’m frustrated, but we’re improving. »
Goff had 23 of 37 attempts from the air caught for 240 yards. He threw two touchdown passes, to St. Brown and DJ Chark.
During the game, Bills star linebacker Von Miller injured his right knee in the second quarter.

Miller saw Lions center Frank Ragnow accidentally pound on his right leg while blocking an opposing player.
Miller’s condition was assessed on the sidelines and he was then transported to the locker room in a golf cart. He did not return to the game.
The 33-year-old Miller started the game tied at 10e rank in the NFL with eight quarterback sacks.
