Next February | The Grammys return to Los Angeles

(Los Angeles) The Grammy Awards will return to Los Angeles in February.

The Recording Academy has announced several key dates ahead of its 66e annual gala honoring the best in music. CBS will broadcast the main ceremony beginning at 8 p.m. on February 4 from the Crypto.com Arena, and it will air live on Paramount+.

The gala will feature several changes.

Earlier this month, the academy announced that three new categories will be added to the Grammys in 2024: Best Pop Dance Recording, Best African Music Performance and Best Alternative Jazz Album.

The organizers also shared some new voting rules, including protocols regarding artificial intelligence (AI) technology. A work that contains “no human authorship” will be excluded from the categories, and in songs where AI has played a role, the human component must be important.

Additionally, to earn a nomination in the Album of the Year category, a music creator must now represent at least 20% of the work. It’s a reversal of the 2021 rule change that allowed anyone who worked on the album to receive a nomination.

The number of eligible people in the so-called “Big Four” categories – best new artists as well as album, song and recording of the year – has increased from ten nominees to eight.

Nominations will be announced on November 10.
