(Newport) Quebecer Gabriel Diallo lost 7-6 (4), 7-5 to Billy Harris in the first round of the grass court tournament in Newport, Rhode Island, on Tuesday afternoon.
Diallo, who occupies 165e world ranking, folded after two hours and 25 minutes against Harris, a qualified player who is ranked 116e world ranking, in this tournament of the ATP 250 series.
The 22-year-old tennis player had trouble with his serve against Harris, who dominated him with both his first and second serve.
The powerful six-foot-eight, 198-pound Montreal hitter nevertheless fired seven aces, except that he also committed six double faults during this duel.
