This is very sad news that occurred on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. It was reported that a member of the fiction team New York, organized crime has been shot and killed on set in Brooklyn. It is a parking attendant named Johnny Pizarro, 31 years old from Queens. The man was brutally shot in the early hours of the morning, shortly after 5 a.m. local time, while sitting in a car. He was quickly taken to Woodhull Hospital Center near Universal Television studios, where he was pronounced dead around 6am. Filming was then suspended for the rest of the day.
According to the latest news, no arrests have yet been made by investigators, but the culprit was seen by witnesses at the time, wearing black pants and a black hoodie. Without knowing why, he would have opened the door of the vehicle where the victim was to fire several bullets before fleeing.
“We are deeply saddened and shocked to learn that one of our crew members has been victim of a crime early this morning and died as a result. We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our thoughts are with his family and friends and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time.“said a spokeswoman for NBC television and production company Universal Television in an official statement.
This is the third season of New York, organized crime which is currently being shot. The detective series is still carried by Christopher Meloni, alias Elliot Stabler, who had previously left the derivative New York: Special Unit after the twelfth season.
