New York Jets | Aaron Rodgers is targeting a return to play around mid-December

(Las Vegas) New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers told NBC on Sunday evening that he hopes to return to the game by mid-December after treating a torn Achilles tendon.

Rodgers had previously hinted that he was hopeful of returning to action before the end of the season, but this was the first time he had been so specific. He suffered what was expected to be a season-ending injury in the first game of the campaign in September against the Buffalo Bills.

“He told me ‘I know it sounds crazy, but when the operation goes well, and you’re a good patient, it might be possible,'” journalist Melissa Stark reported during the presentation of the match between the Jets and the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night.

However, Rodgers, who was on the sideline, added that he just “didn’t feel like” throwing a few passes during warmups like he had in previous weeks.

Asked after the Jets’ 16-12 loss to the Raiders, coach Robert Saleh said that “if the doctors give him the green light, he’ll also have the team’s green light.”
